In addition to learning effective techniques for self-defense, Tae Kwon Do training will increase your cardiovascular fitness, muscular strength, and flexibility. Rules for the Do Jang(school)
- Tae Kwon Do techniques are not to be used outside of the school, except when needed for self-defense or the defense of others in need.
- No free sparring outside of regularly scheduled class time, without the permission and presence of an Instructor.
- For your own safety and development, only the techniques that have been taught to you by your Instructor should be practiced.
- Profanity, loss of temper, horse play, loud laughing or talking, drug or alcohol intoxication, or any of display of discourtesy or lack of self discipline will not be tolerated in the school.
- Pay attention to your Instructor at all times, answering clearly and replying with “Yes, sir” or “No, sir.” Address All instructors as “Sir” and address each formally by title (Mister, Junior Master or Master) and last name; Master Lewis may be addressed as “Master Lewis,” or “Sa-bum-Nim”
- Bow to the school flags whenever entering or leaving the practice room, and bow to, and, greet Instructors whenever meeting them.
- Keep your Dobok (uniform) clean, complete and on, at all times. Remove all jewelry, and cell phones, before class, and keep your toe and finger nails short, clean, and trim at all times.
- Arrive early for class and allow time to warm up and do stretching exercises before class begins. If you are late, wait at the back of the classroom until recognized by your instructor and ask permission to join class.
